With campus building interspersed in an urban setting, Brown University has developed its campus with respect to its neighbors. As the consequence, institutional growth has been constrained to internal expansion. The courtyards in Wriston Quad provide available spaces for insertion. The project serves as a catalyst and trendsetter for future development. It provides what is lacking in existing housing. At the same time, it maintains an identity while adapting to the existing fabric.
