The two large courtyards in Wriston Quad provide space available for architectural insertion. Wriston Quad is one of the existing dormitory quarters on campus. It consists of nine red brick buildings (in Federal or Georgian style). Their zigzag footprints interlock each other (like tetris) and create meandering perceptions in the exterior. The two courtyards, one runs north-south on the east side of the Quad and one east-west on the north side, provide accesses to the streets and link the adjacent campus with the Quad.
